Esther Dekoning is a multi-passionate creative based in Hamilton, Ontario.
By trade she is a designer, and by design she is an explorer.
Esther likes to call herself a Wandering Creative (trademark pending). She builds her life around exploration and following her lil’ Creative Source wherever she is led. That means getting excited about new ventures and trying her hand at creative hobbies whenever her heart desires.
She believes that we’re all designed to be curious and try new things. Some drift off, but some stick. All of them help her make better sense of the world and her place in it. For Esther, it’s all about the journey—and the play that happens along the way.

Esther is the founder and creative director at Sereth®, a design studio she founded to support “brands who give a crap”—i.e. nonprofits and brands dedicated to social justice, environmental impact, and community care. Sereth uses storytelling and strategy to help them build empathetic brands across brand and digital.

Mi & Mian
Esther is writing a cookbook celebrating the flavors of Northwest China, where she grew up, alongside a longtime friend. Together, they are recreating dishes that remind them of home and sharing cultural stories from a region that’s still largely underrepresented/ The recipes and book design are currently underway.
